☀️ Miyazaki – My Sun-Kissed Hometown on the Southeastern Coast of Kyushu
Miyazaki Prefecture is located in the southeastern part of Kyushu, blessed with blue seas and golden sunshine.
When you think of Miyazaki, the first things that come to mind are sun and sea!
Although there are four seasons, the climate stays mild throughout the year, making it an easy and comfortable place to live.
Thanks to this warm weather and seaside location, the people of Miyazaki are wonderfully friendly and laid-back.
🌿 Beyond the Famous Sights
Of course, Miyazaki has its share of famous tourist spots, but one of my favorite ways to enjoy the prefecture is to simply wander through the everyday townscape.
Take a slow stroll, pop into cozy cafés, peek inside little cake shops, and discover small local stores that you won’t find in any guidebook.
These casual encounters often lead to the best conversations with locals.
🌆 Downtown Charm
I also love the downtown area, which is just the right size—lively but not overwhelming.
It’s fun to experience the contrast between day and night: sunny daytime shopping streets give way to a relaxed evening vibe with glowing lights and friendly izakayas.
🍽 My Personal Picks
Now, let me share a few of my own biased recommendations for must-try spots and food in Miyazaki!
